Zehnder Communications, Inc. recently won two Tellys at the national 30th Annual Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honor the best local and regional cable television commercials and programs, as well as the industry’s finest video and film productions.
Zehnder received a Bronze Telly, the second highest honor, for its Boudreaux’s Fine Jewelers “Nightmare” television spot. The commercial was created to set the jeweler apart from competitors in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge markets by juxtaposing the brand’s longstanding exceptional service to the anxiety male shoppers experience. Reaching the hard-to-crack younger demographic has traditionally been a significant challenge for jewelry retailers. This is true especially for younger males, a critical sales component, who generally feel intimidated by the jewelry shopping experience.
The agency also received a Bronze Telly for St. Tammany Parish Hospital’s “How far?” television commercial, which raises awareness of the hospital’s world-class cardiac care facilities, while emphasizing how close to home it is. The narrator asks, “How far would you travel to get world-class cardiac care? Would you take an international flight?” The awards were given in the categories of Retail Store/Specialty Store and Hospital, respectively.
Since 1978, the mission of the Telly Awards has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting and supporting creativity. The annual awards competition includes entries from 50 states and five continents. In the agency’s 13-year history, Zehnder Communications has received a total of 28 Telly awards.
