NEW ORLEANS – Grey Goose vodka and the classic Bloody Mary were among the biggest social media topics during Tales of the Cocktail, the annual New Orleans libation celebration billed as the world’s premier cocktail festival.
Zehnder Communications’ State of the Listen project tracked social media posts and online interactions during the five-day event July 25-29. Results were compiled in an infographic.
Research showed that in addition to Grey Goose, Absolut vodka, Oxley gin and Jameson Irish Whiskey were among the big trending brands. Other popular cocktails included the Old Fashioned, the hometown favorite Vieux Carre and the Manhattan.
State of the Listen research also turned up a curious cocktail ingredient at this year’s event: bacon. The breakfast staple ranked No. 6 of the most popular mixers.
